Rhonda's home for Christmas!

Rhonda came home to Placerville today around 4:30 pm. She was amazingly alert. In fact she was bossing around the ambulance drivers as to how they were going to get her off the gurney into the house. So funny. In fact, she didn't want to get in the bed but sit by the Christmas tree and enjoy it for a bit.

The kids saw Rhonda this morning for their goodbyes. They wanted to get them out of the way because we don't know when she will go. She was kind of out of it and not very alert.

Tonight Ron and the kids got a Christmas blessing. She was so alert and talkative that they decided to do their Christmas together. When I left they were all on the bed together surrounded by their gifts. The kids had wide, happy eyes. They couldn't believe how alert she was. Ronnie said they had a gift from God.

I left there so happy for their time together. So happy that the kids got another great time with their mom.

  2. As emotional as it all is... it is wonderful to hear that the family can be together to share in this special time. No matter what the future holds, they will hold this memory in their hearts forever. Thank you, Lord, for this precious, treasured time together as family!

  3. Ron, Rhonda, Ronnie, Becky,

It's with tears of Love and Peace as we read of God's gifts to your family tonight. As I was driving to work this morning, I was reminded of the scripture that reads... Before the foundations of the earth were established, He knew us and our days were laid before Him. As Nelda and I were talking after I came home, I mentioned it and she said she had read the same scripture this morning. Do we understand? No, but we don't have to. He really does provide peace! Now and in the future! God answers prayer in His way and on His time. I trust Him!! You are continuing to have a constant place in our prayers. Now and in the future!

  5. I'm thanking the Lord for you, Catlett family, and reflecting on these verses...

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." (Luke 2:11-14)

A SAVIOR has been born. Just as the angels surrounded that family years ago, may you recognize that you are surrounded by His angels this morning bringing joy and peace to your hearts. ...peace to men on whom His favor rests!

    Love to you all,

    Jenny Woods

  7. Our thoughts and prayers for Rhonda and her family. Doyle is in our prayers as well. It is looking like I'll never get to meet Rhonda here, but I'll find her in heaven for sure and we can catch up. Blessings to all who are caring for Rhonda and the family. I pray God will sustain each one, especially the children through this time and into the future. Love and prayers, Bruce Catlett.

  8. Rhonda,
Thinking of you this morning and feeling so thankful for the gift of the time you were able to share with family last night. I remember a conversation that we had at the grocery store in Bigfork a few years ago and the tears it brought to your eyes talking about your sister. How awesome is He that you will be reunited again!
How fitting it is that your love of music is still influencing my family. My dad came in to work this morning and told me to listen to a song he had just heard and thought immediately of you.
"When I get where I'm going
On the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly
I'm gonna land beside a lion
And run my fingers through his mane
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain"
Praying today for you....that His plan for you give you a sweet peace. For Ron, Ronnie and Becky and all your family and friends.....that they find comfort in the minutes, days, and months ahead.
    Blessings~Jen Johnson

  9. Dear Catlett family,
As you savor these moments and days together, know that God is checking his day-timer too , and getting everything , everywhere on His perfect time schedule. If Rhonda says good-bye to you, she will not be alone for one second. (Ex. 23:20) "Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared." What an escort!
Love from our family to yours.

  13. When Cori first told me about Rhonda's illness I began to pray for her. During one of those prayers I said "Lord , Rhonda needs a miracle from you " and as clear as day He said "I AM"
In the midst of everything... HE IS YOUR MIRACLE. Yesterday again, I asked "Lord, give her a miracle " again...he said "I AM"
Today as I read these blogs I am overcome with emotion. I can see that HE is your Miracle. He is giving you and your entire family PEACE as he prepares you for what is to come. He is your resting place , your deliverer, your strong tower. May you continue to Trust in him and be comforted by His Love and the love you have for each other.
You and your family are in our hearts & prayers

  15. Rhonda, I have appreciated your friendship, hospitality, and warmth. Please know that because of what you are going through, all of us are holding our children a little tighter, watching our loved ones a little more closely, and pressing in all the more to Father during this time when family and friends gather around and we celebrate the things that are most important to us.

You will be remembered long and well. Thank you for being you, for being real.

"I am convinced of this - that neither life nor death...nor things present nor those yet to come can separate us from the love of God."

If I see you again in this life, I will be overjoyed. If I do not, it will only forestall the pleasure.
